Born and raised in Hana, Pekelo Cosma graduated from Hana High School and served six years in the Army. Well-known in Hana as a master  slack key guitarist, Pekelo was discovered by larger audiences with the release of his debut album, “Going to Hana Maui” in 1992.  Pekelo was also a member of the Sons of Hawaii & in 2007 Pekelo received a HOKU Award in the Haku Mele category.  Pekelo was a true Kiho`alu Slack Key artist & composer & is dearly missed by his family, friends & the Hawaiian music community.  He is one of a kind…
